Born August the 4th 1974, Douglas' time has been a series of trials and confrontations where facts bore no truth and the present resides outside his creative musical energies.

Douglas, an only child raised by his Grandparents, spent most of his childhood in San Francisco,
attending boarding school and learning, among other things, to play the piano and keyboard.

At the age of 17, Douglas left for Detroit find creative freedom-only to return to San Francisco after
pleasantly crossing paths and working with Mad Mike and James Stinson of Drexciya (r.i.p.) of the fabled Underground Resistance Records.

Douglas recorded his first EP for Detroit-based Switch Records in 1992 under the name O.S.T.-(the source of which he won't readily reveal to anyone )in the early 90s that led to other EPs and releases as O.S.T., Rook Vallard/Vallade/Valard, and Dalglish on imprints
ranging from Dimitri Fergadis' Phthalo,Plug Research, Jonah sharp's Reflective and others..

As O.S.T. became known for a challenging, quixotic,unique electronic style,
Douglas began remixing (Spacetime Continuum) and appearing on compilations for labels like Worm
Interface,Diskono,Plug Research Dial,,Klang Krieg, Emanate and Polyrhythmic along with such electronic luminaries as Autechre, Boards of Canada,Tom Jenkenson(Square Pusher), Carl Craig, and others.

The Rook Valard album Systematic Desensitization on Phthalo in 1998 originally recorded for LA label plug research in 1995 and Deflect as O.S.T. a year later.

Nevertheless, Douglas felt the room for O.S.T.'s technically proficient experimentalism needed to grow required the development of a new label, using the recent album Seimlste to launch Qlipothic.

Douglas envisions Qlipothic to be a boundless expanse for artists bound by convention, for people like himself who have worked in and around the music industry in search of an open environment only to find its absence.

In April of 2003 for the first time in 7 years o.s.t. has been playing abroad in Europe.
Starting off with the Autechre curated All Tomorrows Parties in the u.k in April, and was recently featured on the All Tomorrows Parties comp , La Casa Encendida, Madrid
and Club transmediale 2004,Berlin. Has releases coming out on Qlipothic,High Point
Lowlife,Phthalo and others... and currently putting together a remix album titled
  Seimlste revisited-Qlipothic (a remixed project of seimlste by various artists including Autechre, Fennesz,Matmos Pita, Luc Doebereiner Stephan Mathieu,motion,minit and others
